Here’s a round up of this week’s posts and the top leadership and productivity articles I’ve read this week, for Christian spiritual leaders from a variety of sources. You’ll also find a summary of this week’s content on www.equippinghispeople.com.
Here are the top five articles on leadership or productivity with church leader insights I’ve read this past week:
No, you can’t see inside my bible by Chris Green
Christian spiritual leaders are and should be focused on others. We pray for others, we lead worship for others, we preach for others. But Chris points out the danger of not doing these things for ourselves too. In particular, Chris reminds us we must read the Bible to feed ourselves first. His solution is to have one Bible he only uses for his devotional times. I’ve realised I’ve done that too, inadvertently!
11 Characteristics of Spiritually Weak Christian Leaders by Chuck Lawless
Chuck has seen a lot of Christian leaders who never fully live up to their potential in the power of God’s Spirit. In this post he lists some of the primary issues he sees in this group of leaders. It has been convicting to note that I am guilty of several of these, and need to seek the Holy Spirit’s power to overcome them.
Let’s bring back the Sabbath to give us a true work break by William R Black
This article is interesting because it’s not written specifically for a Christian audience. It does however have a Christian voice. In an age where we think we can never work enough, the idea of a forced break from work is gaining ground. Christians know it as the Sabbath.
5 Ways to Choose Important Over Urgent by Dan Rockwell
It’s a constant battle! But here are five proven ways of ensuring we choose the important over the urgent. I recommend putting important work on your calendar and turning off social media, but I’ll be looking at the other three ways too.
The three times of year to plan Christmas by Chris Green
I know, I know. It’s the dreaded C- word. But Chris is right. For Christian spiritual leaders, we think about Christmas throughout the year. His suggestions are a good way of ensuring everything is well planned and that your planning isn’t last minute.
